Firstly, im new to x10 and havent learnt where everything is on the forum. So hopefully im posting this in the correct place.

cPanel name: dovercarnival or dovercan
Plan where you are (Adenhanced or Adfree): Adfree

I want to run a SMF forum but i cant because i need PHP Advanced.
Can i be upgrade to PHP advanced??
*Note: I have submitted a application but i never recieve a reply (for advanced).

I need shell_exec(), but it is on the blacklist.
Im desperate for the upgrade, as im half way through finishing this website for my step dad.

Still pending. I need to be upgrade to advanced within the next 4 hours. Otherwise i will NEED to switch host. I wont be happy doing this, but i HAVE to run this forum.

Advanced PHP applications are rarely accepted, and have to be reviewed manually by an Admin. So it can take a while.

You could try commenting out the line that is causing the problem and see if that fixes it.

Commenting out the line does not work.

I think its stupid that this function is on the blacklist. You cant run any forum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I may need to move host. I really dont want to.

Nevermind. I commented out the entire function this time, and it works.

The function shell_exec() along with other command line functions allow php to run commands on the server. This is a serious security risk and it's not stupid that its not allowed. Also alot of forums and CMS's don't need it.
