Re: Im Getting A Mysql Error And I Challenge Anyone To Help Me Fix It

There seems nothing wrong with you config file and it's really 'localhost' for the db hostname if it's in the same server as the scripts (x10hosting). index.php file is actually the one the server should load (if it exists) before any index.html file so you need not delete the index.html one. And index.php might have some other scripts that it executes if you access it. Did you import the table structure from db.sql.zip as said by the instructions?

index.php is the home page and you don't need to copy template//page_index.html one because it doesn't initialize any php scripts

Re: Im Getting A Mysql Error And I Challenge Anyone To Help Me Fix It

I imported the table into phpmyadmin, was that the correct place? I wasnt sure, but there was an import option there so I thought it was a good shot.

heres what phpmyadmin says

It doesnt say browse on my page but when I copy and pasted that was carried with it, so just ignore that part. And btw ty for joining in the helping of this poor little php nub
Edit:
Could the problem be that maybe the scripts are in the wrong folders? or I uploaded all the files into the wrong directory or something like that? anyways that was my nubly guess

Edit:UPDATE NEW POST!!!

Ok first off I'd like to say I am a dumbass, Natsuki indeliberately found the problem. Here is the pm he sent me, it will help make what im about to say understandable.

hmm I tested it in my localhost and it works completely..
there's no problem with the script, maybe it's your database... can you delete it and remake the db then import the table again in it (or you could make a test db if you still have some free database left, then change the dbname in config_inc.php to the test database

example:
1. in cpanel click mysql databases, make a database named test (that becomes dquigley_test) and add user dquigley_dquig to it with all permissions to it
2. goto phpmyadmin, click dquigley_test, then import the table again
3. then change the dbname in config_inc.php to dquigley_test
4. try to go to your site again (which is actually index.php)
check if it still not working.

if it still doesn't work it's probably you misplaced the scripts..
So he told me to make a test database and when I did that I added my user to it and I noticed something, my main database didnt have a user, and then it clicked ^____^ I didnt add the user T~T So its working now the site itself still has to be edited and I have to add all my personal info to it and customize it and such but you can check the end result of our labor at

If you can't change the type of that can be used for the index page then have that type just do a redirect to index.php. Then when ever the index.html is served up it will automatically redirect to index.php

The configuration file looks fine from what I see.

PS, I posted this before I read all the other messages...
