Username says it's NOT taken Maverick but when I Try to use it it does not let me have it. I would LIKE the same username as what I signed up in the forums if I can NOT have it... BUT I can't according to your account sign up. what if someone wants to register using their last name and it uses 10 or more letters? this is not fair to anybody... I want to put My High school's Reunion Page here for the class of 1998 and it would be PERFECT if you would allow me to use this same nickname for the hosting login. or correct the error in your database to allow me to use the nickname I wish. which is only 9 chars instead of 10 it also won't let me create a name Maverick1 which is quite dumb as well. either name would be fine with me as long as It can be linked to this forum account. Basicly what I am asking for is a change in the login process by two chars or numbers to be allowed in the login and either a login to be created for me or allowed to do so. seeing as I was able to register this nickname on the forums I don't see why I can't create this login for the webpage too.... :(

I'm not too sure what you're worried about. Your cPanel ID won't affect a username or what your site's named when you actually make it. The only thing I can understand is if you want just 1 username to use on both cPanel and these forums. Again, your cPanel ID won't affect anything to do with your site.

Well I DO want a single username, However if not possible I want to be able to use either one of the two varients Maverick_1 or Maverick1...... the check is not being done properly to do this and says "Error checking detail status, please try agian." For "maverick1" This is not right and needs to be corrected to be allowed.........

Unfortunately, your ID is 1 character too long =\ I'm not sure if the site admins here can change that or not. You could try something like: Mav1, Mav3rick or Maver1ck

Although, I think what I just suggested is completely the opposite of what you originally wanted =\

Good Ideas and alternatives if I can't Get them to fix the numbering for allowing a maverick1, names are supposed to be allowed 9 chars Maverick1 is 9 exactly :S why it's giving that error I do not know :(

This is stupid and ridiculous...... I want a specific username and it's NOT allowed, But the widget says it's NOT taken, the other point says it is.... THIS MUST be fixed..... I also want to be able to use my REGULAR nickname for login........ MAVERICK either with a 1 or _1 Fix this please.... I don't want to hurt feelings here nor do I want to be banned for saying my Opinion and being VERY open about it. I just want the opportunity to have a domain for my Classmates to be kept updated on what each is doing and share our photos with each other, and for now this is a FREE domain and that's all I can afford right now for our class. it has been 10 years since some of us had seen each other, this is a very important step for our class to have a reunion page to come back to and update each other on what everybody is doing and how they are doing. I would eventually like to put up a PHP nuke or other Forum within the website.

I will look into the error into why saying you can use it, but the hosting control panel we use has an 8 username character limit. There is no cPanel host that will allow it due to that, you can't change it.

I am sorry but if you can't use anther username there is nothing we can do, you are always welcome to use another host, but it would have to be a non-cPanel host.

Are you seriously that upset because the username you want us to supply you with is not within the restrictions that we've set? And another is already in use by another member?

Maybe you should realize that we have well over 140,000 members and the name that you want is not something all too unique.

Starting to make a bunch of accusations about the ages and maturity of those running x10Hosting is a little over the top as well.

Customer Satisfaction is a definite must, and X10 Staff will go to the end of the world to make you happy so that you may one day repay them by buying services.

However, you can't tell them that they aren't doing their job by not making the impossible happen. Figure out a new username, and get over it!

Don't flame me For something that is quite accurate.... and YES I have a right to be perturbed and upset about your restrictions, Who the hell are you to restrict names to 9 letters when somebody might want their last name as a signin that might be 10 or more chars? My main point to this is; what if someone has a more unique name that requires more than 8 or 9 chars? The average length of a username on the net is 9 chars these days, People have been using Complex usernames for even longer.

"not making the impossible happen."? adjusting username length takes just a few minor adjustments in any coding! Fixing coding to allow numbers within the names takes only a few more, maybe 45 minutes of work for a good coder or coding staff. I also SAID I did not want to come off as being too rash and was speaking my mind about the subject.


I ask the staff here to PLEASE do the right thing and Fix the bugs in the signup not doing checks properly, and to change the code allowing names to be longer. What upset me late last night early this morning was the fact that I could not even talk with anybody. I AM a nice person and I AGAIN apologize if I came off too rash..... I have learned in Life that if you can't take criticizim in a positive way then you'll not go anywhere in your life. Please folks take this as CONSTRUCTIVE and not Destructive advice.
