Staff Applications ( How to become a Moderator )
I have wiped out the current staff applications.
If you want to become a member of our staff please apply (re-apply) through this link: http://forums.x10hosting.com/modapp.php
Be sure to fill it out the application completely and write detailed answers. One liners are not okay. If I find applications that are not filled out completely, or otherwise make me think you are wasting our time you will receive a temp ban from the forums. Remember, this is an application for moderator, not Account Manager. If we see you are talking about being an Account Manager, we will delete the application without question.
We need new staff now, we don't have the time to sift through hundreds of applications where people can't follow simple instructions. If you can't figure out what you're supposed to do then don't apply.
We will be hiring up to 10 - 15 people by the end of this month if possible.

ADDED: (5-16-08 )
It seems users are not reading the moderator application very closely. If you can't follow directions in applying, we will assume you can't follow directions as staff. If you get a temp ban and want to complain, we will do a perm. ban.
ADDED:
Please only post questions regarding to the application process or staff position. All other posts will be deleted without question.

Re: Staff Applications ( How to become a Moderator )
Annoying that I have to fill it out again..
Starshine, do you have to say which part of the forum you would like to be a moderator of, or do you choose?

We do give the new staff member a chance to pick a few choices, but ultimately we do decide where they will moderate.

Re: Staff Applications ( How to become a Moderator )
HI,
Sorry for any inconvenience but I thought that we had to specify witch section we would be moderating I have just read one of the previous posts and realized that it was up to the x10 staff to decide. Please could you tell me if I have to complete the application again?
Thank you

If you become a moderator, your forum in which you will moderate will be chosen then, no need to worry.

Re: Staff Applications ( How to become a Moderator )
Don't forget to make sure that your application is detailed and for any of the questions, please do not write something like 'same answer as question above' as we get those kind of things on a lot of applications and they end up getting rejected, you will also gain a higher chance of being chosen depending on how active you are, how many posts you have, and how long you have been on x10.

Re: Staff Applications ( How to become a Moderator )
I have some questions. I submitted an application a couple of days ago and I would really like to be staff here.
How are staff chosen and approximately when are they being hired?
What are the responsibilities of staff in general?
What is the next step up after being promoted from moderator?
And finally....what are the advantages of being staff?
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions!

Re: Staff Applications ( How to become a Moderator )
1) There is no approximate date or time for staff being hired, staff will login and review your application and then rate it, then if anyone thinks that the user is worthy of the position of moderator, we would discuss it with StarShine as he is the one that hires the moderators.
2) To start off with, you have many responsibilities, you would start off as a sub moderator, meaning that you moderate one off the forums here on x10, sometimes will we allow you to make that choice. But there are guidelines for each staff group, sub moderators, only moderate the forum that they are appointed to. They must make sure there is no spam in that forums, and that everyone are following the rules of that forum. If they feel that they are doing something wrong, then they have the ability to close the thread, and give the user an infraction or warning, they may also edit user's posts if they feel that illegal content has been posted that shouldn't have been.
3) After the position of sub moderator, you may be chosen to be promoted to senior moderator. Senior moderators help the sub moderators with any problems and have permission to moderate on forums on the site.
4) There are quite a few advantages of being a staff member, you have the ability the change your title (as i did to mine), you gain more credits from posting as a staff member rather than a normal user (which isn't working at the moment). You have access to the staff forums and modcp. I'm not sure if that's everything, but i'll let StarShine confirm that.
Hope this helps...
