x10: Getting Started

I've put this thread together to help guide people on finding information. x10 is very complex and has many features, I've broken down the sections below with bold titles.

Here are a few good links everyone should read before asking questions.
x10 Commandments
Forum Rules

Signing Up
We've tried to make it as easy as possible to sign-up. What you should do is decide on what type of website you're going to make and how much resources you REALLY need. Once decided pick from one of our plans listed below in the plan section. Picked a plan? Go here to sign-up: http://x10hosting.com/hosting
If you already signed up but did not receive the confirmation E-mail, request it again here:
http://x10hosting.com/hosting/resendconfirmation

Getting Support
To get support on x10 you have to use the forum, we do not provide support over PMs or Email unless we ask you to contact us via those methods first. We have a free hosting support section located here: http://forums.x10hosting.com/free-hosting/

Always read EVERY stick before posting in a forum, and ALWAYS search before asking questions. People who are too lazy to do those simple things will be temp banned from the forums. There are over 100,000 posts, almost all questions have been answered before.

Plans
We currently have 4 plans, 3 ad-enhanced and 1 ad-free. The static plan on the ad-enhanced will be phased out later this year. For a break down of the plans you can visit here:
x10Hosting.com Plans

Ads & Adcode
Only two of our plans require ad-code, if you happen to pick either the advanced or corporate plan you must put the ad-code on each publicly viewable page. Your customized ad code can be found by logging into your account panel here: http://x10hosting.com/login
You have one week from your account creation date to have a website up with the ad code on it.
More detailed ad reference

Upgrading\Downgrading\Account Modifications
x10 has a custom account panel for it's members which allows them to see specific info about their account. You can login to our account panel by going here: http://x10hosting.com/login (Login with your FORUM user name and password). In your account panel you can upgrade\downgrade your plan from the 3 different ad-enhanced types. Normally you can change your own domain but it is currently disabled for recoding. If you want to change your domain or switch between plan types (Ad Free & Ad Enhanced) you need to make a post in our upgrade forum found here: http://forums.x10hosting.com/upgrade...rades-changes/

Being Suspended
There is a wide range of reasons your account could possibly be suspended. Normally you can see why you were suspended by logging into your account panel here: http://x10hosting.com/login or filling out the information on the suspension page that shows up when you try to go to your site. Generally you will be suspended for a 4 day period with major infractions being 7 days. To find out more information on your suspension or to request to be unsuspended just make a post in our suspension forum: http://forums.x10hosting.com/suspended-accounts/ (READ THE STICKY AT THE TOP)

Linking your account
We require that all hosting accounts be linked to a forum account, this makes it much easier to give you support. Your hosting user name is visible to all the staff right below your post count, with a single click any staff member can see your user name, what server you are on, your domain, and some other misc information about you. Having this information at our finger tips make the support process so much easier, plus we can do a simple look up to see what issues you've had in the past if we need to research something for you. Account and forum linking is now done automatically as of 8/22/07. If for some reason you have a new account or it isn't linked correctly you can follow the directions in this post: HOW TO: Link your hosting account to your forum account.

Server Trouble\Issues
Every now and then you might have a problem with your site or account. To see if there is an issue with a service or the server is down completely you can check out this thread: x10Hosting Services Up/Down

If a service is down you should then check the server alerts found here: http://forums.x10hosting.com/server-alerts/ . If there are no alerts listed we probably don't know about it. A lot of problems fix themselves so you should wait 5 minutes and check if it's still down. If so please make a post in our free hosting section.(If no one else has already made one).

Credits\Forum Points
We used to have x10Cash and regular points. They have since been consolidated into credits. You should be able to view your credits under your post count in your posts along with going here: http://forums.x10hosting.com/credits.php
Credits can be used to purchase stuff from x10 or trade among members for services and goods in The Marketplace. Members can use credits to purchase items from x10 which include domain names, premium hosting, or cash. The credits system is still being revamped and will hopefully be done by the first week in Sept. or sooner. Once finished there will be a detailed FAQ on them.

Paid Hosting
x10 also offers cheap paid hosting plans that can be found here: http://x10hosting.com/services
Our paid hosting plans offer tons more resources plus added benefits like daily backup, priority support, and VIP forum membership(Priority Support Forum).

Credits
You are able to earn and spend credits here at x10. We offer great rewards in trade for credits! A detailed thread about credits can be found here: HOW-TO: Credits (Information)
Updated 12/06/07 -- Please post any info you feel should be added.

FAQ
{Q} What are the DNS servers for x10?
{A} ns1.x10hosting.com & ns2.x10hosting.com

{Q} It's asking me to link my account when I sign-in.
{A} Your account has not officially been created yet, this could be because you did not confirm it either, try requesting the confirmation again: http://x10hosting.com/hosting/resendconfirmation

{Q} I uploaded my site but I still see the Welcome default page.
{A} Delete the index.html file in your public_html folder, it is the default page and is not needed.

I take it you clearly didn't read the Terms of Service or that question would of been answered.
You are allowed just one account.
