@above poster: .jar have nothing to do with javascript. They are Java Archives, Java source code, which must be compiled by the Java runtime environment to run the program they contain. Javascript is used for browser scripting and end with the .js extention (most of the times).

Get the JRE from http://www.java.com/en/download/manu...ww.java.com:80 to be able to run .jar files which target the PC. J2ME (mobile edition) files will not run.
