What kind of connection do you have?

Well, I wanted to know what kind of connection you guys have here for your internet. I'm pretty sure there is another topic open with this same exact content or similar content, sorry if there is one, couldn't bother looking too much lol, but take the poll and tell me what you guys have! I enabled the ability to select more than one type of connection, as some of us here may have two or more different types of connections.

Also, for those of you who want to get some of us jealous or just want to post for the heck of it, post your connection speed and latency to east and west coast servers in the US!
Oh, and whoever decides to pull Google TiSP out gets rep/credits, whichever I pick :D

I'm a Verizon DSL user who is running a 7.1Mbps/768Kbps connection that on speed tests tends to hit 7.2Mbps/790Kbps whenever I do a test, day or night. My pings to wast coast game servers range from 25-40ms, and my west coast game server pings range from 40-60ms. HTTP ping is the same as well. Not even cable in my area can beat this connection (overused roadrunner network anyone? Speeds bounce up and down and pings start as low as 125ms these days in the area...), despite the fastest speeds being 15Mbps/2Mbps, while DSL in the area only reaches 7.1Mbps/768Kbps in Verizon Land, or 6Mbps/768Kbps in Frontier Land.

Re: What kind of connection do you have?

What's the speed of your Fiber Optic line? Just curious, as Verizon is moving in 30Mbps/15Mbps Fiber, maybe even 50Mbps/30Mbps FiOS into my neighborhood during the summer months.

Re: What kind of connection do you have?

Florida's AT&T land, right? If so, then I guess that's gotta stink, as people over at DSL Reports say that AT&T is going to die because of Fiber and DOCSIS 3.0 because UVerse is DSL based :P

Also, wait until DSP-PON (is this right) is created and put onto FiOS. I'd be able to get a 2.4Gbps symmetrical feed DEDICATED right to my house if I wanted to. That'll basically take AT&T down unless they really decided to run more FTTH.

Re: What kind of connection do you have?

I've got cable - Virgin Media to be precise.
I have absolutely no idea how fast it is, I'll go on one of those speedtest sites in a minute and see how fast mine is.

Re: What kind of connection do you have?

Verizon FiOS for my home which is also connected to my wireless router. And I help manage the T1/T3 service for our school. So fairly fast internet wherever I go! (Sometimes all of my wireless devices can overload my connection, same thing with the school)

Re: What kind of connection do you have?

Cable - advertised as 5Mbps down / 192Kbps up. According to speedtest:
6592 Kbps down / 506Kbps up. 42ms latency to a server 100km away.

Re: What kind of connection do you have?

I'm in New Zealand and we dont have much to choose from - my connection is what they call 'max/max' which is *apparently* as fast as my line will allow... I get about 4Mb down, 500Kb up - yet I can reach download speeds from local servers at 800KBps so that's nice :0) I remember BBS'ing and the significance of upgrading from 14.4 to 28.8 was incredible... no such thing as "shaping" back then
