Peerguardian 2

http://phoenixlabs.org/pg2/

I highly recommend this program for everyone. It protects your privacy data from the goverment etc. It is firstly designed for ppl who use bittorrent but it will block goverments, spyware, hacking attempts etc. It is virus and spyware free. I have scanned it.

It is pretty funny to look what wants to connect to your computer. It has blocked this for me:
"fake emule server" (I don't even use emule...)
"Australian nuclear Science and Technology Organization" (wtf? what have they to do on my comp???)
"Sveriges radio ab" (wtf?)
"international Recording Media association"
"bittorrent,inc" (lol)
"secured network" (that says much...)
"ClearBlue technologies" (O.o this company has wanted to access my comp at least 40 times in 1 min. Omg! I think it seems that they hack me lol. OMG! Now they are sending their next server: ECNext)
"ABS-CBN"
"media temple"

Re: Peerguardian 2

You don't have to worry about all these things when you use uTorrent. It uses an IP filter known as IPFilter. It keeps out all of these things.

But think... The goverment maybe not connect to you through bittorrent programs, they maybe connecting directly throught some open port on your computer... The program has already stopped 20 000 goverments and companys and maybe even spywares that my firewall has missed and I haven't used bittorrent under this time.

Been using PG2 for a long time back when BT first became popular.
I think it is good but sometimes it can also make me or us become very paranoid. Some of these companies are legit. Do a search and find out.

Does IPFilter only work if you manually add IPs to block?

You have to keep updating the list. You can download the list from here http://www.bluetack.co.uk/config/nipfilter.dat.gz. The list is updated daily. For more info read this http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/...ng-bittorrent/
