It should probably be noted that if you're doing this, you must also enter a default gateway and primary DNS server or your internet won't work at all.
The easiest way to find out what they are is to click Start, "Run...", type "cmd" without the quotes, and hit Enter. Type "ipconfig /all" in the black box that pops up (once you're actually connected to the internet), and you'll see a bunch of information on your current IP configuration. Note down the IP addresses next to "Default Gateway" and "DNS Servers" on the interface you're giving an IP address to, since those are the only two fields we care about right now. These are the numbers you'll need to plug into their respective fields when you manually set your IP address.
