£4 billion seems cheap compared to some of the stupid wars the world keeps engaging in.
With those, we get nothing but lots of small bangs, a whole load of misery, & learn nothing except how futile they all are.
Lets keep up the investment in scientific research -it's the only thing which keeps the human race moving forward, & may actually solve a few of our problems along the way.
