I'm a liberal independent, and I'm pro-life. I'm still siding with Obama on this, because I feel that anti-abortion laws would work just as well as anti-murder laws. The root of the problem (IMO) is the reasons why anyone would want to have an abortion--usually more widespread problems like poverty and lack of education. I feel that Obama might be a better choice for attacking those problems (though I strongly disagree about his partial-birth abortion decision). I also feel that the republican party is ignoring those really facing economic hard times--they act as if it's just a minor thing and as long as the upper class isn't losing out, everything will be just fine. I'm one of the people who has seen and experienced first-hand the effects of the 2-term Bush administration. Things are a lot worse than the republican party makes it seem. Just watching the republican convention sickened me: I don't care that McCain broke every bone in his body twice and then caught fire and was thrown into solitary confinement for 2 years where he survived on rats. That doesn't tell me anything about his leadership. In fact, it makes me wonder about his physical and mental stability.

Looking at McCain's age and health, I'd care a lot more.
